Mindworx’s Services
Seeking the right mental health support is the first step towards regaining mental wellness. At OT&P MindWorX in Central Hong Kong, we provide professional psychiatric services for individuals of all ages, from children and adolescents to adults and seniors.
Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, or complex psychiatric conditions, our licensed specialists are here to deliver personalised, evidence-based care in a strictly confidential and supportive environment.
Psychiatry is a branch of medicine dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders.
Unlike other mental health professionals, Psychiatrists are medical doctors and all of our psychiatrists are registered as specialists with the Medical Council of Hong Kong . They are qualified to assess both the psychological and physical aspects of mental illness, allowing them to order medical tests, provide diagnoses, and prescribe medication when necessary.
At OT&P Central MindWorX Mental Health Clinic, our psychiatrists collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and therapists to ensure your treatment plan is holistic and tailored to your life.
Mental health challenges arise differently for everyone. You or a loved one may benefit from a psychiatric consultation if you are experiencing:
Long-lasting sadness, anxiety, or sudden shifts in mood and energy.
Emotional challenges during pregnancy or after birth, including severe "baby blues," bonding difficulties, or postpartum depression.
Difficulty sleeping, concentrating, or maintaining daily routines and relationships.
Changes in eating patterns, substance use, or uncharacteristic irritability.
Suicidal thoughts, trauma-related symptoms, or severe emotional distress.
Early intervention often leads to better long-term outcomes. If you are unsure if psychiatry is the right path, our team can guide you during an initial triage.
Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Your plan may include medication, psychotherapy referrals, lifestyle adjustments, or further medical evaluations.
We offer ongoing monitoring of symptoms and treatment effectiveness, while managing side effects and adjusting medication if needed. If required, we can coordinate with psychologists, therapists and other healthcare providers.
Our experienced team is here to help you regain control, find clarity, and feel like yourself again.
Our psychiatrists at OT&P create individualised medication plans based on your specific medical history, age, and treatment goals. Medication may be recommended as part of a broader care plan that can also include therapy and lifestyle support. Commonly prescribed medications include:
Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) and methylphenidate (Ritalin, Ritalin LA and Concerta).
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) such as sertraline, fluoxetine, and escitalopram, SNRIs such as duloxetine and desvenlafaxine and others like vortioxetine.
Treatments for mood regulation, including atypical antipsychotics such as quetiapine and aripiprazole, and anti-epileptics like sodium valproate and lamotrigine.
All prescriptions are issued only after a comprehensive medical assessment.
Our psychiatrists are integrated into a wider team of professionals at OT&P MindWorX to provide seamless and collaborative treatment:
Clinical Psychologists: For Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and talk therapy.
Counsellors & Therapists: For relationship and emotional support.
Speech and Occupational Therapists: For developmental support.
Do I need a referral letter to see a psychiatrist at OT&P MindWorX?
No, you can book a consultation directly with us. However, if you have medical notes from a previous doctor, please bring them along.
Does seeing a psychiatrist mean I have to take medication?
Not necessarily. Medication is one of several treatment options. Your psychiatrist will discuss all suitable approaches, including therapy, lifestyle support, and monitoring.
Is psychiatric care suitable for children and adolescents?
Yes. We offer specialised support for children and teens, including assessments for ADHD, autism, and behavioural or emotional challenges.
How much does a psychiatric consultation cost?
Fees may vary depending on the type and duration of consultation. Please contact our mental health clinic for detailed pricing.
Psychiatry vs. Psychology. What are the differences?
The primary difference is the ability to prescribe medication. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose medical conditions and prescribe medication. Psychologists specialise in psychotherapy ("talk therapy") and behavioural skills but do not prescribe medicine.
Is this covered by medical insurance?
Many international and corporate insurance plans in Hong Kong cover psychiatric care. We recommend checking your specific policy coverage for "Specialist Consultation" or "Mental Health." We can provide the necessary documentation for your claims.
