Vaccination for Children in Hong Kong

Vaccination is an essential cornerstone of preventive healthcare for children in Hong Kong. While the Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme (HKCIP) provides a standard vaccination schedule, additional vaccines for Rotavirus, Meningococcal, and Hepatitis A etc, offer broader protection; these are provided in designated private clinics.

Along with the vaccines mentioned above, the OT&P Family Clinic also offers seasonal flu vaccines, providing extra protection against influenza.

Why Should Parents Consider Additional Vaccines for Children?

These vaccines often protect against serious illnesses, which may not be common in Hong Kong, but could still lead to severe complications post-infection. Some of these diseases are prevalent abroad, as children travel much earlier and frequently. To ensure your children receive comprehensive protection, these additional vaccines should be considered.

Going beyond the HKCIP can safeguard children against a broader range of diseases. Take the proactive step to gain a greater peace of mind and contribute to the health and safety of the wider community.

Paediatric Check-ups

As your child reaches 3 years old, it is recommended to have yearly paediatrician reviews.

Before 3 years old, more regular reviews are recommended, as children are growing rapidly during this period. Even for healthy children, paediatric check-ups are recommended at the following ages:

1 week  |  1 month  |  2 months  |  4 months  |  6 months  |  9 months  |  12 months  |  15 months  |  18 months  |  24 months  | 2.5 years

Benefits of Regular Paediatric Check-ups

Regular paediatric check-ups are essential for keeping your child healthy by ensuring immunisations are up-to-date, preventing serious illnesses, and identifying developmental or behavioural problems early.
