About the summer camps
Led by Occupational Therapist (OT) Kirstin Thornburrow and Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) Grace Leung‑Aprea, 2026 Summer Camp: Ready, Set, School is designed for children aged 5–7 to build the core skills they need to feel settled, confident, and successful at school.
Through fun, structured, and supportive activities, children will build the skills that make school feel easier and more enjoyable, stronger attention and listening, better emotional regulation (managing big feelings, using coping strategies, staying flexible), and confident social communication (taking turns, joining group play, having conversations, understanding social cues). We also strengthen early literacy foundations that support reading and writing readiness in the early years.
Along the way, children will practise real classroom routines, following instructions, transitioning between activities, working in a group, and asking for help or expressing needs clearly, so they can participate more independently and with confidence.
Our goal is for every child to leave camp feeling more confident, more independent, and genuinely ready to thrive when school starts.
