What is Labixten? 

Labixten is an antiallergic medication designed to alleviate symptoms associated with allergic conditions. It contains bilastine, a non-sedating antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors. 

Labixten is a second-generation antihistamine, meaning it is less likely to cause drowsiness. Bilastine is synthesized to selectively inhibit peripheral histamine receptors.

What is Labixten used for? 

Labixten is used to treat: 

  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever). 
  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). 

How do you use Labixten? 


Labixten is available in tablet form. 

Dosage information:

  • Adults and children over 12 years: 20 mg once daily. 
  • Children under 12 years: Not recommended. 


  • Children: Not recommended for children under 12 years. 
  • Adults: Yes. 
  • Elderlies: Yes, no dosage adjustment is necessary.

Is there anyone who can’t take Labixten? 

  • Children: Under 12 years, not recommended. 
  • Adults: Those with hypersensitivity to bilastine or any ingredient in Labixten. 
  • Elderlies: No contraindications specific to age, but caution is advised due to possible multiple medication use. 
  • Pregnancy: Consult a healthcare provider before use. 
  • Lactation: Not recommended as there is insufficient data on excretion in human milk. 
  • Allergies: Individuals allergic to bilastine or any other component of Labixten should avoid this medication.

Any warnings and precautions : 

Labixten should be taken on an empty stomach. The safety and efficacy in children under 12 years of age have not been established.

Drug Interactions: 

Labixten should not be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice or meals for optimal absorption. No significant drug interactions have been reported.

The side effects of Labixten are generally mild and may include headache, drowsiness, or dizziness.
