About the Weekly Group

Led by Occupational Therapist (OT) Kirstin Thornburrow, this programme combines structured learning with play-based activities, designed to keep children actively engaged throughout. Each week follows a clear theme, introduced through a short circle-time session before moving into cooperative games, role-play scenarios and team challenges. The hour is entirely hands-on; children practise skills with each other in real time, not just listen.

Who would benefit

This group is for any child who finds friendship skills tricky, whether that's joining in play, managing conflict, coping with change, working as part of a team, or building meaningful connections with peers. It is not neurodiversity-specific; any child who would benefit from a supported space to practise these skills is welcome.

What parents can expect

Over five weeks, children develop a stronger sense of how their behaviour affects others, better tools for reading social situations, and more confidence in group settings. Parents receive pratical take-home strategies and a summary of their child's progress at the end of the programme.
