Where Can I Get the Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine in Hong Kong?

In public and private healthcare systems.

Currently, there are two types of Japanese encephalitis vaccines provided in travel health centres in Hong Kong:

  1. Inactivated vaccine: For use in travellers aged 2 months and above. The immunisation schedule is 2 doses administered on days 0 and 28. The vaccination should be completed at least 1 week before travel.
  2. Live attenuated vaccine: For use in individuals aged 9 months or above. The immunisation schedule is 1 dose administered at least 14 days before travel for adults and at least 28 days for children.

OT&P can provide Japanese encephalitis vaccines. Your doctor can also review any other vaccines which you may require.
