What is Genital Warts Treatment Like?

When should you go talk to a doctor.

Genital warts don’t have to be removed in most cases, as long as they are not causing you discomfort. If you are concerned about discomfort, appearance, or spreading of warts to your sexual partner, your doctor can help you remove an outbreak with medication or surgery. Removal of the outbreak will stop the infection from being passed on.

However, in some cases, genital warts can cause more unpleasant and possibly dangerous symptoms. If you are experiencing any of the below symptoms, you should talk to a doctor as soon as possible:

  • Itching or bleeding from genitals or anus;
  • A persistent change to the normal urination flow, for example, a sideways flow.
