What Are the Most Common Musculoskeletal Disorders?

Protracted Shoulder, Rounded Back, Poking Chin, and Cradling Your Phone Are Common Musculoskeletal Disorders.

Increased musculoskeletal disorders in patients can be attributed to the shifts in lifestyle, poor ergonomics and posture. However, patients are now becoming more health-conscious and paying attention to their posture and making more effort to get chronic musculoskeletal problems fixed.

Below are the most commonly seen clinical musculoskeletal disorders:

  • Protracted shoulder (Rounded shoulders) — when shoulder positions have moved forward from the body’s ideal alignment.
  • Rounded back — a curvature of the spine that causes the top of the back to appear more rounded than normal.
  • Poking chin — when your neck slants forward and pokes in front of your shoulders, instead of directly above them.
  • Cradling your phone — cradling the phone between your shoulder and head, resulting in stiffness and pain in the neck.
