How Can I Prevent Rubella?

The best way to prevent rubella is to get vaccinated

The best way to avoid rubella is to get the MMR vaccine. There is 97% coverage with one dose, and with two doses, the coverage is nearly 100%[1].

Women of childbearing age who are not immunised should check their immune status before planning for pregnancy and receive rubella-containing vaccines if necessary[2].

You can use our vaccine calculator to check your vaccination status.
