How Often Should I Get a Mammogram?

Recommended frequencies of mammogram examinations for women.

The frequency of your mammogram depends on your age and family health history.

  • Women aged 40-44 should have a choice to start regular annual mammograms if they wish to do so.
  • Women aged 45-50 should have a regular annual mammogram.
  • Women aged 55 and above can choose to have their mammogram every year or switch to every two years.

Depending on their family health history and individual conditions, some women may be recommended for a screening using both a mammogram and an MRI.
