Procedures in OT&P clinics during COVID-19

Written by OT&P Healthcare | March 20, 2020

Updated on November 30, 2020.

All OT&P clinics remain open as usual including Saturday and Sunday. We continue to look after both our existing and new patients.

Appointments can be made as follows:

Online:  https://www.otandp.com/online-appointment

Email: appointment@otandp.com

Telephone: 2155-9055

Please contact our clinic and we will give advice and arrange treatment according to your needs. This may involve consultation in person or by telephone depending upon the situation. A brief health declaration including symptoms and potential COVID-19 contact may be requested at the time of confirming the appointment. The exact protocol will vary depending upon evolving community risk. A gentle reminder that misrepresenting your history of symptoms, travel and potential COVID-19 contact in a medical setting is now a criminal offence in Hong Kong.

Remote home testing for COVID-19

Under CHP guidelines we are offering remote home COVID Testing.

Such requests are suitable for the following patients:

  • Patients with respiratory symptoms or fever and/or sore throat and/or cough
  • Possible or probable contact with a COVID-19 case

Medical consultations with risk factors for COVID-19

In the context of the evolving situation, the type of consultation we advise at the moment depends upon the following categories. Please note that anybody who has fever or respiratory symptoms and anybody who is a definite or possible COVID-19 contact will be assessed by telephone in the first instance:

  • A known or possible contact of COVID-19
  • A fever or respiratory symptoms

Please do not come to the clinic before contacting us first if you are in any of the categories above. Don’t worry, we will continue to provide care for all of our patients. Below is the process we recommend depending on the specifics of the situation.

All known or possible contacts of confirmed COVID-19

Remote home testing under the protocols described above. The doctor will explain the process during the telephone consultation.

Patients with fever or respiratory symptoms

Consultation will be by telephone with a doctor in the first instance. The doctor will then advise on how to proceed.

All other clinical appointments

For all medical appointments outside of the categories above we continue to offer our full range of medical services in all of our clinics. Our Family Clinic while offering a full range of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Midwifery and Paediatrics, will not be offering any COVID-19 testing or consultations. Patients who require a test will instead be directed to our General Practice clinics.

We are following all Department of Health protocols and are deep cleaning our clinics on a regular basis.

We have been fully functional throughout this process. We are updating polices regularly. We appreciate that this is a difficult time. We wish to emphasize that the community risk in Hong Kong remains very small and we will continue to care for all our patients, whilst ensuring that our clinics are safe environments for patients and staff alike.
