IV Drips

Why IV Drip? Why not just eat healthier?

While we always encourage our patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle, sometimes life’s hecticness can find its way; a big celebration of overnight partying, an extremely demanding work project leading to days of take outs and junk food. During this time period, you might find it hard-pressed to maintain the optimal nutrition that your body actually needs.

An IV drip can help your body recover from those moments and provide your body with the nutrients it needs.

 Did You Know

A study reported that your body absorbs only 23% of the drugs and supplements you intake orally. On the other hand, 90% of the nutrients from an IV drip are absorbed. This is why if your body has a nutrient deficiency, an IV drip may be recommended to get the much-needed nutrients into your body as opposed to using supplements.

Tailored and made just for you

At OT&P Aesthetics & Wellness, we are able to create an IV drip bag that contains the nutrients that work best for you and tackle the problems that need to be addressed. Common problems that an IV drip can help includes:

What exactly goes into your IV drip bag?

Here are some well-known key ingredients in traditional IV infusions and how they can help you.

  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid)
  • Vitamin B Complex
  • Vitamin B12
  • Magnesium

Magnesium is an important mineral, playing a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the human body. Its many functions include helping with muscle and nerve function, regulating blood pressure, and supporting the immune system.

    Mechanism of Action

During exercise, carbohydrates, fats, and protein are broken down sequentially to provide energy and support muscle movement. The underlying mechanism of Mg-induced strength improvement is possibly due to the function of Mg in protein synthesis and energy metabolism, contributing to the process of muscle contraction and relaxation. Additional Mg supply may decrease the oxygen requirements for muscle cells during exercise, leading to optimization of physical movements.

    Potential Benefits

    • Improve exercise performance
    • Decrease the accumulation of lactate (high lactate levels means insufficient oxygen reaching muscles)
    • Increase muscle strength
